Interesting news about the UFC’s efforts to promote UFC 131. According to Wrestling Observer, Paul Heyman had been employed by the production company that puts together the UFC Coundown specials and Spike TV. Heyman’s role was to help Brock Lesnar promote the fight but with Lesnar now out of the fight (and as confirmed by Shane Carwin on twitter) Heyman helped Carwin at the shoot of the hype special for UFC 131’s new main event. As Dave Meltzer says “The idea of Heyman working with UFC in teaching fighters how to promote matches (and how not to) isn’t the world’s worst idea”.
