Wrestler of the Week: WWE’s Zack Ryder (@ZackRyder)

Columns, Top Story

Each Friday, we’ll name a noteworthy wrestler, based on criteria that will likely change on the fly. Have your own suggestions for Wrestler of the Week? That’s what the comments section is for.

This week’s WOTW? None other than self-proclaimed Internet Champion – and one half of the newly-reunited Major BroskiBrothers, Zack Ryder himself.

After a few months where he basically used a personal YouTube channel to get attention – one that, as far as we know, was of his own doing (rather than something WWE came up with and endorsed) – Mr. Woo Woo Woo You Know It has slowly crept back into WWE’s shows. First a quick cameo during The Rock’s birthday. Then a Superstars victory over Vladamir Kozlov with help from former co-tag champion and new Raw draftee Curt Hawkins (fka Brian Major back when Zack was known as Brett Major). And finally, what looks like the beginning of a push in the quietly-growing tag division, during a 15 minute match that saw him team up for the first time in over two years with Hawkins to face Kozlov and Santino Marella.

Unfortunately, the team (spoiler alert!) couldn’t figure out a way to defeat The Cobra, but something tells us we’ll be seeing a lot more of the Major Broskis in the near future. And if not… there’s always Z! True Long Island Story.
