American Idol 2011 Tour Details: Finalists Get Paid $50,000 Each

News, Shows

TMZ recently got a hold of a contract that spells out what each finalist will make, while on tour this summer.

First, the 11 Finalists will each earn $1,000 for every show they perform during the American Idol Live Tour. They will all share in merchandise profits from the tour and receive $50 in spending money on the days they are not scheduled to perform. This is in addition to the $1,000 they get each for performing at each city. There are 47 tour stops, so each finalist is set to make at least $50,000 each this summer.

Besides money, each finalist also gets some “fringe benefits”. Each singer is guaranteed to be put up in a “Marriott/Hyatt” style hotel on the road and they will fly coach between tour stops.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
