Jon Jones to Face Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135 in September

News

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is next in line for the UFC Light Heavyweight title, at least according to champion Jon Jones. With the title holder close to his return from a hand injury, Rampage may be set for his title fight at UFC 135, rumored to take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Both fighters need to be cleared by doctors due to various injuries, so if that hurdle is cleared, the fight will go on.

Jackson stated at the UFC 130 post-fight press event that he wanted to get in there and “get his world title back.”

After successive defeats of Lyoto Machida and Matt Hamill, Rampage steps back into contendership against the 23-year-old Jones, who won the title March 19th at UFC 128 with a dominant TKO of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
