Jim Miller to Get Next UFC Lightweight Title Shot

News

In the co-main event of last night’s Ultimate Fighter Finale, Clay Guida beat former WEC Lightweight champion and number one contender Anthony Pettis by unanimous decision. UFC President Dana White confirmed that the next title shot isn’t Guida’s despite his bell-to-bell performance.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, White said that Jim Miller “is still ahead of [Guida]” in the UFC lightweight rankings even after “The Carpenter” secured a big win over Pettis.

Jim Miller is 20-2, with losses to both Gray Maynard and UFC Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. At UFC 96, Maynard defeated Miller via unanimous and he also lost a unanimous decision to Edgar in November 2006 at Reality Fighting 14.

Miller is on a seven fights winning streak. His next fight is August 14th in Milwaukee against Ben Henderson at UFC on Versus 5.
