Darren Aronofsky Wants Christian Bale To Steer Noah’s Ark

Casting News, News, Projects, Rumors

Darren Aronofsky may not have been able to direct Christian Bale to Oscar gold with The Fighter – Aronofsky had been developing the project before David O. Russell came on board – but with his upcoming $100+ million project about Noah’s Ark, Aronofsky might rely on Bale not just for his acting skills but as a way to generate some cash to secure studio backing.

Christian Bale, who has already shown that he’s a human yo-yo when it comes to dropping weight and putting it back on, may have his biggest challenge as actor, playing a 600 year old. Considering he’s thirty-seven, that’s a 563 year difference.

If Aronofsky can get Bale’s commitment before an offer is officially there, it will go a long way in helping to land the rest of the money needed to make the film happen. Already, the studios circling the project include are Paramount, Summit, and Fox (where it is currently in development at Fox’s mini-studio New Regency).
