Tarec Saffiedine To Slug it Out With Scott Smith at “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson”

News

After Strikeforce pulled Tarec Saffiendine’s original “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” opponent, Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos, to face Paul Daley, he was left with no opponent for the July 30th card in Chicago. Now, word has spread that Saffiedine will face Scott Smith in his welterweight debut.

Smith made his debut at lightweight (170 lbs.) in December 2010, but lost to Paul Daley. Smith debuted at 170lbs last December, but fell short in his fight against Paul Daley in Strikeforce. Saffiedine is coming off a loss to Tyron Woodley, but had a three-fight win streak prior to that defeat.

Smith is 1-3 in his last three fights, with losses to Cung Le, Nick Diaz and the aforementioned Paul Daley.
