News

– The “Best In The World 2011” card has developed into exactly what the title says. It cannot be denied that the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC will host the main event that everyone has been waiting for when ROH World Champion Eddie Edwards defends against Davey Richards to determine just who is the best wrestler in the world today. ROH World Tag Team Champions Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin will defend in the biggest tag team match in ROH history against The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli), The All Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King), and Jay & Mark Briscoe in a Four Way Elimination Tag to determine who is the best tag team in the world. In addition, “The Generic Luchador” El Generico will challenge for the ROH World TV Title against Christopher Daniels to see who is the best wrestler to represent ROH as we debut on broadcast television in September. By now you know that Ring of Honor makes every effort possible to deliver the best and we can guarantee that this iPPV will be worth every penny. Not only do we have the best roster in the world but we also have the best fans in the world that make ROH what it is and provide the unbelievable atmosphere and support for true pro wrestling. ROH is wrestling that you can be proud of and June 26th will be a day that, after the event is over, you will say “that is why I love pro wrestling.” Check out our official “Best In The World 2011” website at: http://www.rohwrestling.com/bestintheworld/ and tickets for this can’t miss event are on sale now in the ROH Online Store, (http://www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=507), and check out http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/Wrestling/ROH__Best_of_the_World_2011/1052 for details on the iPPV broadcast.

– The final match has been set for “Best in the World 2011” (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/colt-cabana-takes-on-the-embassy-in-nyc/), and it pits Colt Cabana against The Embassy’s Tommaso Ciampa. Colt has found himself embattled by the HoT in recent months, and now must deal with another group who plays on the numbers game all too frequently. Even without RD Evans & Princess Mia at ringside, “Boom Boom” still needs to worry about Nana himself, Ernesto Osiris, and maybe even the bodyguard Rhino. Will The Embassy prevail where the House of Truth did not?

– Steve Corino and Jimmy Jacobs are looking to even the odds against the House of Truth in New York City:

– Former ROH World Champion Roderick Strong is undefeated on his current tour of Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH. Strong has 3 wins and on 6/14 in Fukuoka he went to a 15 minute time limit draw with Katsuhiko Nakajima. Today in Kagoshima, Strong teamed with ROH alum Bison Smith to face Kensuke Sasaki & Kento Miyahara and Strong picked up another victory when he pinned Miyahara. On 6/26 Strong is set to challenge GHC JR Heavyweight champion Kotaro Suzuki at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

– In other Pro Wrestling NOAH news, Ring of Honor is pleased to announce the participation of ROH World Champion Eddie Edwards and Delirious for the upcoming NOAH 2011 Junior Tag League Tournament on 7/15 through 7/30. Edwards and Delirious will form an alliance to represent Ring of Honor Wrestling and ROH advisor/former owner Cary Silken is confident in the ability of the team he has cleared to enter. “Edwards and Delirious are two of the best wrestlers to ever compete in ROH,” stated Silken, “We are honored that Pro Wrestling NOAH feels the same way and I can guarantee that Team ROH will show the heart, passion, and determination it takes to bring the championship home to the USA. Eddie has had many successful tours of NOAH and Delirious has as well defeating such greats as KENTA and Kanemaru. NOAH is the best in Japan and we are sending our finest to embody what ROH stands for. Thank you Pro Wrestling NOAH and thank you to the Japanese fans that support ROH.”
