Note: It’s come to our attention that the teaser is indeed a hoax. Well played, Clerks. Well played.
Okay so the reviews for Green Lantern haven’t been all that great (currently 24% on RT – ouch), but DC Comics fanboys and girls who love watching Ryan Reynolds in a get-up that makes Errol Flynn’s Robin Hood look straight will be there in droves. And for forking over $12 or more on tickets, at least you’ll be rewarded with this gem.
So it may not be the best quality of teaser on the net at the moment (I expect it to be pulled if legit) but the teaser is apparently screening in front of Green Lantern. With production still ongoing, visuals are minimum. It’s basically a reminder to everyone, “Hey, you know that billion-dollar grossing sequel from a few years ago? Well, here’s the sequel to that!” With Green Lantern being a DC property and all, it makes sense for a Batman teaser to kick the marketing campaign up a notch, since we’ve already had our first look at Tom Hardy as Bane.
The Dark Knight returns to Gotham (and theaters) on July 20, 2012.
