News

In what could be enormous boon for Bellator’s business, Ben Askren, the current Bellator Welterweight champion, went after Nate Marquardt for his “repeated cheating” and, according to Askren, deception regarding his use of the treatments.

After Marquardt’s explanation yesterday, Askren went to Twitter to with the following statement.

“You are a cheater. Not once but frequently. Stop cheating, come to Bellator and I will crush you.”

Most reactions in the press range from support to utter shock as to why UFC President Dana White reacted in the manner that he did, but at this point, he is without a job and a fight with Askren might be fantastic business for Bellator with alot at stake for both men. Askren has just called out a former UFC Middleweight top contender out and Marquardt could use the bout as a career redemption, of sorts.
