Chael Sonnen Can Apply for License Today

News

We might see Chael Sonnen, the former UFC Middleweight contender, back in the cage soon. After it was reported that Sonnen’s suspension would last until 2012, MMAFighting spoke to George Dodd of the California State Athletic Commission and, apparently, he’s clear to apply once again.

Dodd is quoted as saying “He can be removed from the suspension list and he is able to re-apply to any agency or any commission. In California he would have to appear before the Commission before the Commission would license.”

For now, Sonnen cannot fight until he chooses to reapply but based on his statement on Twitter last night, he’s itching to get back into the cage.
