TV Spot With a Spoiler For Captain America: The First Avenger Debuts

Media, Spoilers, Trailers

There’s always been two types of “Captain America” comic books. The World War 2 variety, where he punches Hitler in the mouth, and the modern incarnation of Steve Rogers the ’50s superhero in the modern world. With the Captain America film promising to be a bit of a World War 2 film with comic book overtones, the latest TV spot for the film has what could be deemed a spoiler.

With images of the film already indicating the celebrated Marvel “after credits” piece having Rogers (Chris Evans) beginning the fish out of water tale with Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) that presumably sets up The Avengers/I> officially, this would presume to be either part of the opening or part of the film’s finale. Either way it’s a fairly massive spoiler to show footage of Steve Rogers in ice.

Captain America: The First Avenger is scheduled for release on July 22, 2011
