New Clips from del Toro’s Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark

News, Press Releases

The Guillermo del Toro produced horror film Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark is based on a 1973 TV movie by the same name, and del Toro himself says the original is the scariest TV production ever made. Coming from a self-proclaimed lover of the Monster Movie, that statement alone is reason to be excited to check out this remake.

This movie is centered around a family who moves into a very large and creepy house. While the grown-ups are unpacking and re-arranging, young Sally discovers a door that was meant to remain sealed. When she opens it, she unwittingly unleashes hordes of hellish creatures called homunculi who devoured the previous owner of the house.

Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark stars Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce and has a wide release date of August 26, but our friends at 42West and FilmDistrict have sent us a sneak peek. Check out these stills and clips:

Jenny is proud to be the First Lady of Inside Pulse Movies. She gives female and mommy perspective, and has two kids who help with rating family movies. (If they don't like 'em, what's the point?) She prefers horror movies to chick flicks, and she can easily hang with the guys as long as there are several frou-frou girlie drinks to be had.
