The Weekly Wishlist: Vertigo Comic’s Fables

Columns, Top Story

Welcome to this weeks edition of The Weekly Wishlist. We have tackled a sports, superhero & WWE line. Now we head back into the comic pages, but this time around, we go after one of my favorite comic books, Fables from Vertigo.

Series 1:
-Bigby Wolf
-Boy Blue
-Rose Red
-Jack

Series 2:
-Beauty
-Beast
-Show White
-Flycatcher

Series 3:
-Geppetto
-Pinocchio
-Prince Charming
-Snow Queen

Jack of Fables:
-Gary the Pathetic Fallacy
-Jack Frost
-Jack-O-Lantern
-Wicked John

As I sat down to make this list, I realized that there would be no list substantial enough to cover all of the characters, and then unfortunately the list just fizzles out towards the end there. This could be the reason why DC Direct has never made a figures based on this line…I also attribute that to this series not being action based.

There were, in my opinion, 4 characters that HAD to be made…so in reality, this could have just been a 1 assortment line, with Prince Charming, Bigby, Snow White & Jack. Obviously in my scenario, spreading them out works better. Also, we give Jack his own spin off line, however only Gary is very important there.

I really wanted this to be a much better breakdown of how and why I choose what I did, but when it comes down to it, there really is no explanation I can give for choosing these characters that any fan of Fables doesn’t already know.

So, why did I go through with this article? Well, I want this as a reminder, not only to myself, but to anyone who ever has a wishlist in their head, that sometimes things just do not work out, and when you come up with an idea, you also realize why these figures have never, and will never be produced. I love Fables, but as I typed out this list, I knew that I would never buy these figures, nor do I think that they would sell the amount needed to even bother.

So with that, I end this edition of the Weekly Wishlist. Next up will be Avengers Classics!

I like Comics, Wrestling, Super Mario Bros & Dead Space. Oh ya, and Scott Pilgrim.
