According to Movieline and a Lionsgate press release, Boardwalk Empire star Paz de la Huerta has been cast as the lead in Nurse 3D, a psycho sexual thriller about a sinister caretaker from director Doug Aarniokoski.
She’ll headline as “Abby Russell, a beautiful, dedicated nurse with a sinister side, and a secret life’s work in which she targets and punishes dishonest men.” The story was apparently inspired by previous photography of Lionsgate’s Chief Marketing Officer Tim Palen, who explored the “intersection of caretaking and punishment in an ongoing series of fine art photographs of beautiful, fantastical nurses used by the studio.”
“Paz is the perfect actress for this role and has already been such an inspiration to the whole project,” Palen added in a press release. “She brings an intensity and a sense of adventure to this role that is so promising.”
Principal photography is slated to begin September 6 in Toronto for a 2012 release.
