With Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann as the only rumored fight on the main card of UFC 136, it was high time that another bout was named. It has been confirmed that Josh Grispi and Matt Grice will face off in a featherweight encounter.
Grispi is coming off two straight losses in the UFC after a 10-fight winning streak and is looking to return to his winning ways. Original
UFC 136 is expected for October 8th at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Grispi, 22, enters his bout with Grice on the heels of the first back-to-back losses of his career. He was originally supposed to receive the first title shot at Jose Aldo’s UFC Featherweight title at UFC 125 before Aldo had to withdraw due to injury. Grispi took another bout in the mean time and was defeated by Dustin Poirier. He was also recently TKO’d by George Roop at The Ultimate Fighter Finale 13.
Grice was on a four fight win streak ended on June 26th at “UFC on Versus 4: Kongo vs. Barry”
Grice had a four-fight winning streak snapped by Ricardo Lamas on June 26, when the 29-year-old suffered a technical knockout at UFC Live 4.
