Warner Bros. celebrates Willy Wonka’s 40th Anniversary!

News

Blu-ray.com is reporting that Warner Bros. has announced details for their up coming release of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory as a deluxe 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition.

Warner Bros. has pulled out all the stops for several fantastic Blu-Ray anniversary releases such as Wizard of Oz and Gone With The Wind and they seems to be continuing their trend of excellence with Wonka.

The 1971 Gene Wilder classic, has already had two Blu-ray releases, including a digibook, but October 4th will see a penultimate release that will blow those out of the water.

Bursting with special features like Violet Beauregarde after a stick of Wonka’s untested gum, this double-wide box will include two Blu-Rays and a DVD, a 144-page book featuring color photos and notes, a Wonka Bar pencil tin with scented pencils and eraser and a Wonka Bar box with archival production letters. And like the coveted golden tickets in the film, purchasing the set gives the buyer a chance to win a trip for two to Los Angeles.

The Ultimate Collector’s Edition will include the following special features:

New to this set:
Mel Stuart’s Wonkavision
A World of Pure Imagination

Carry overs from other editions:
Pure Imagination: The Story of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
Commentary by the Wonka Kids
Four sing-along songs
Vintage featurette
Theatrical trailer

Warner Bros. has listed Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory: 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition with a SRP of $64.99.
