SDCC: Marvel Reveals Which Character Will Be Reborn By Jeph Loeb

News

A few weeks ago Marvel released a teaser with a blank black background, the names Loeb and McGuinness, and the title “_____ Reborn”.

At the time we talked about Rob Liefeld jumping on the idea that it was Cable, and the five letter name mixed with the characters somewhat recent death made him a prime suspect.

Well, at the Cup  O’ Joe Panel at the convention they revealed the rest of the teaser.

December 2011!

Jeph Loeb had some comments to make about the project.

“Those of you who are long-time X-Men fans, may or may not remember that when I first started at Marvel, back when they had paper, the first book that I was ever on was a book called Cable. He is a character that I love, and was shocked and terrified when he went down in Second Coming. It is a pleasure for Ed and I to take a look how he will be reborn, and that is a really true statement for that.”

“As you know, part of him didn’t quite make it out of the last story. It’s a big, big story, that doesn’t just have ramifications for the X-Men, but Marvel in general.”

He also goes on to say that he views Cable as the Captain America of the X-Men, which makes it impossible for me to not post this.

Man, now I want to see Rob Liefeld draw this book.
