MMA Classics: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Ricardo Arona at Rings: King of Kings 2000

News, Top Story

With “Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson” coming up this weekend, is Fedor Emelianenko still relevant? How much does he still have to offer? Obviously, a case can be made for Fedor to finally walk away from the fighting game with a loss, but one thing is certain, his nearly 10 year undefeated streak is a feat unto itself.

“The Last Emperor” has seen better results than his last two losses (to Fabricio Werdum and Antonio Silva, respectively), but in this clip, you’ll see a young Fedor taking on Ricardo Arona in one of both Arona and Fedor’s first MMA battles.

Interesting point: this was the night before his loss via TKO (doctor stoppage) to Tsuyoshi Kohsaka that would be his final defeat until a June 26th, 2010 submission loss to Werdum.
