Some nagging things on my mind as we enter the HHH era…
1. If Sin Cara’s really in everyone’s bad graces following the wellness violation, why not just… get someone else to put under the mask and call HIM “Sin Cara?” Last I heard, WWE owns the name and the gimmick.
2. Every rumor I read says that CM Punk as WWE Champion isn’t the “long term plan” (assuming WWE has one). If so, could the long term plan include CM Punk, “Best in the World,” going head to head against that OTHER “best in the world” over on Smackdown? Aaron just cried a little. I can’t believe that the new t-shirts Punk is wearing are merely coincidence.
3. Teddy Long has a gambling problem, right? Which will lead to it being revealed that he’s been in cahoots with his old client, Mark Henry, RIGHT? It would explain so much.
4. So David Lagana recently blogged about how HBK was a big reason CM Punk got another chance in 2007 after the agents/producers were down on him. Another unexpected wrestler getting a push: Bryan Danielson, HBK trainee. Hm. With HBK influencing some interesting opinions behind the scenes, HHH now storyline COO and Kevin Nash my favorite current WWE-contracted Superstar to be revealed as Raw GM, is anyone else surprised that the Kliq is taking over WWE – 15 years after the infamous MSG hug incident – and during a time that’s actually gotten the IWC excited and hopeful again?
5. John Cena’s Boston accent has gotten stronger each week since the Punk stuff began. Him being more “real” or just a coincidence due to a recent show being in his home city?
6. Quick: name the IC, US and Tag champions! Fine, I’ll give you until the September PPV.
7. Speaking of Night of Champions, I really hope we aren’t in a situation where the WWE title went from Cena to Punk to Rey to Cena to Punk to Del Rio in the matter of two months. (This is where I write things out loud, hoping someone in WWE reads them, and convinces Vince to do something else, in order to surprise the fans.)
8. Where are my ice cream bars? Probably the same place as those Miz & Morrison slap bracelets and Johnny Curtis’ tag title shot.
9. I’m trying not to let myself actually get excited that Colt Cabana, Claudio and Hero are all free agents and rumored to be coming into WWE following Punk’s return.
10. It’s time to make Michael Cole a full-time manager. The three-man booth on Smackdown seems lost (in fact, I’d rather see Booker as a part-time wrestler if he and Mathews don’t start clicking better soon, and give Regal a promotion from the c-show) and I can’t see a similar set-up with JR and King working on Raw. Cole’s shown he’s a good talker, and a nice stable of up-and-coming stars he deems suitable could make for some good times in the midcard.
