CM Punk Crashes AAW, Shakes The Hand Of Gregory Iron

News

With all the hoopla and fall out from the Money in the Bank PPV, where CM Punk walked out the Allstate Arena (through the crowd) with the WWE Championship, sometimes it’s easy to overlook a story. The self-proclaimed “Best in the World” has been on a tear of late, invading Comic Con, being interviewed for GQ Magazine and by ESPN’s Bill Simmons, and telling those in attendance after Monday Night Raw went off the air that he’s back.

But before making his return to WWE TV, CM Punk attended the AAW event Scars and Stripes last Saturday to watch his best friend, Colt Cabana, compete. The match was a 3-on-2 Handicap Match which saw Cabana paired with Gregory Iron against the Awesome Threesome. The outcome of the match is inconsequential. What to take from the match is wrestler Gregory Iron.

After the match, and with some egging on by Cabana, CM Punk came out from the back and made his way to the ring. He came out to personally congratulate Gregory Iron, shaking his head, followed by Cabana and Punk hoisting Iron on their shoulders as Bobby Brown’s “On Our Own” blares out of the speakers.

Prior to this, I didn’t know much of AAW or anything about Gregory Iron. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. Watch the video below and listen to Cabana’s podcast to learn more about Gregory Iron and why his personal journey to become a wrestler is so special.
