DC Comics Relaunch: Jim Lee’s Red Hood & The Outlaws Designs… Part Of Batman Inc.?

News, Top Story

During SDCC, DC released quite a few Jim Lee concept sketches for the DC Comics Relaunch. Included in that diluge were Red Hood and the Outlaws.

A few observations.

Red Hood, one of four of Batman’s Robins in five years (creating a pretty big logic bomb in the DC Comics Relaunch alongside Stephanie Brown’s own issues), doesn’t seem to be bat sh*t crazy. He is even sporting a big ole red bat(man) like emblem on his chest.

So, Jason Todd / Red Hood is sort of a Batman now. Is he part of Batman Inc.? Seems likely although he is an “outlaw”, isn’t he?

We also have Starfire, a cosmic princess, who seems an odd fit for “Outlaws”. Her attire seems similar to her pre-Flashpoint threads, although her flaming hair – most pronounced in flight – seems to be smoldering and perhaps emitting greenhouse gases. :)

Lastly, we’ve already seen Arsenal, Green Arrow’s former sidekick Speedy, who has a love of the drink, tattoos, and baseball hats. Poor Roy Harper… a basket case on any Earth? Good news, he has both arms. Bad news, he never had a daughter named Lian with the master assassin Chesire. :(

They are mismatched misfit loners on a non-team team in the DC Comics Relaunch.

We also have some great interior pages from the debut issue on the upper left and right for you to do the clicky thing on. Pretty dynamic pages that pop “fun” off the page.
