Art Thibert’s Comic Relaunch: BLACK AND WHITE! Sean Ellery Shares Cover To #1 & Racy Interiors!

News, Top Story

Looks like one of my fave 1990s Image Comics books is making a return.

Art Thibert’s Black And White is being relaunched with colorist Sean Ellery joining Art on the project.

This looks intriguing.

We have a possible cover to #1 released as well as a racy two page spread.

This does look a tad different than the original Black and White.

So, when will this be out? Who is the publisher?

Stay tuned. Once we know, you’ll know.

The announcement from July 2011:

Pro-inker Art Thibert has a creator owned project called “Black and White” which was published by Image back in the mid 90’s.

Now he’s trying to get it relaunched and I’ve been doing various pinups and interiors for him to help it along.

This then is the cover (hopefully!) to Issue 1 of the relaunch. I had a hell of a time with this as the picture was only pencils and I had no idea for a colour scheme. I sent Art 3 or 4 different colour combinations – my favourite was a orange-red background – then Art saw Tron Legacy during the week, said go for something like that… and here we are!

It probably still needs some revisions and fixes but here’s the first pass at the finished cover

pencils by Art Thibert of course

      cheers
      Sean

Great news.

I’m eager to hear more and hope the new series is faithful in tone to the original even if the tech seems to be very much modern day.
