Bradley Cooper Back In Talks For The Silver Linings Playbook

Casting News, News, Projects

For a while there it looked as if Mark Wahlberg would be re-teaming with director David O. Russell on this adaptation of the Matthew Quick novel, but it looks like Bradley Cooper is entering negotiations to join the cast of The Silver Linings Playbook. Cooper, who has been previously attached to the project last year, would take over for Wahlberg who has a scheduling conflict.

And as Deadline reports, Jennifer Lawrence would play the female lead opposite Cooper. Because her commits with The Hunger Games the production start of Playbook would interfere with Wahlberg and his filming of Broken City, a noir drama where he’ll play a former cop now private investigator who gets involved with a case surrounding a corrupt mayor (reportedly to be played by Russell Crowe).

In The Silver Linings Playbook, a former high school teacher (Cooper), who was institutionalized for depression and then released into the care of his mother, tries to win back his ex-wife but becomes involved with an eccentric neighbor (Lawrence) with problems of her own.
