Toronto, Ontario, Canada is home to UFC’s most successful show in the organization’s history. This past April, UFC held their first event in Toronto a scant eight months after Ontario became the sixth Canadian jurisdiction to sanction mixed martial arts.
It should come as no surprised that UFC is eager to get into this market as soon as they can and they will: UFC 140 will take place at the Air Canada Centre (which holds 20,000 when configured for boxing/MMA) on December 10th.
No fights have yet been announced for the card.
Toronto’s previous event, UFC 129, held at the Rogers Centre, featured a UFC Welterweight title fight between champion Georges St. Pierre and Jake Shields and it decimated North American MMA records, hosting a crowd of 55,724 for a whopping $12 million gate.
