Brett Ratner is offered the Oscars

News

In news that is shocking to everyone, including the man himself, director Brett Ratner has been hired to produce the 84th Academy Awards, set for Feb. 26, along with veteran TV producer/director Don Mischer. Mischer also co-produced last years show.

Ratner, whose works include the Rush Hour series and X-Men: Last Stand said in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter that he felt like was “in the Twilight Zone.”

There is also a mention of “infusing” this years Oscar Ceremony with comedy. Which leads me to ask, so what does he think they’ve been trying to do in the past? And frankly, if Rush Hour his how Ratner perceives comedy, then I have grave concerns for this years Oscars.

What do you think? Is Ratner a good fit for Hollywood’s most prestigious night?
