Arriving a month prior to Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin is Shout! Factory’s release of the first season of The Adventures of Tintin animated series. Priced at at very reasonable MSRP of $19.93 (currently $13.99 at Amazon.com), the first season drops on November 22, 2011 with the intent on capitalizing as a tie-in to one of big movie releases of December.
Adapted from the long-running graphic novels by the late cartoon artist Hergé (a.k.a. Georges Remi), the popular animated TV series The Adventures of Tintin, which had its original airing in the U.S. on HBO, chronicles the young and intrepid investigative reporter Tintin and his faithful dog Snowy, along with Captain Haddock, the muddled genius Professor Calculus, and the bumbling detectives Thompson and Thomson as they embark on incredible globe-trotting adventures full of excitement, mind-boggling mystery and fun.
While technical specs are unknown, it looks like the two-disc release will be barebones as far as extras go. The first season consists of thirteen episodes with a total of seven different adventures – six of which are two-parters.
