UFC on Versus 5 Not To Air On ESPN UK

News

Bad news for UK fans, with UFC UK President Marshall Zelaznik confirming to The Daily Telegraph that this Sunday’s UFC on Versus card will not air live on television in the UK, despite the show being headlined by Dan Hardy’s do or die fight against Chris Lytle. Zelaznik explained that it was an issue of the UFC’s contract with its British broadcast partner ESPN UK predating the creation of the UFC’s Versus series; “Versus programming falls outside of our current deal with ESPN. While efforts were made to get ESPN the carry the Hardy fight, we could not come to terms”

Instead Zelaznik revealed that UK fans will be able to watch the show online; “We understand UFC fans and ESPN customers will be disappointed, so the UFC has made the entire main card available – for free – live and on-demand all next week to ensure everyone can see this fights”.
