With news that we might finally get to see the Manny Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather superfight, another impressive fight came to mind – Pacquiao’s 2009 clash against the undroppable Ricky Hatton. After a dominant first round that saw Hatton go down twice, Pacquiao unleashed a power strike upon Hatton, landing a stunning left that put his opponent down for good with around 10 seconds to go.
The knockout gave Pacquiao the “KO of the Year” from Ring Magazine and stands among Manny’s strongest fight moments. Sadly, the fight is also the final one of Ricky Hatton’s storied career as he announced his retirement from boxing in July of this year.
