Michael Biehn has made close to fifty movies including such hits as The Terminator, Aliens and Tombstone. When he worked with Robert Rodriguez on Planet Terror, one half of Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s tribute to grindhouse cinema, the director inspired Biehn to pursue his dream of writing and directing his own feature.
The Victim marks the actor’s debut as a writer/director and like Planet Terror is a film in the grindhouse tradition. With a budget of $800,000 – a total that wouldn’t match the catering budget for the latest Transformers movie – the film isn’t for the faint of heart.
Studio Odysee Pictures has teamed up with the Houston Film Critics Society for the Texas premiere. The screening will take place Wednesday, August 17th at the River Oaks Theatre with a 7:30 p.m. start time. Both Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc Biehn will be in attendance and will be part of a short Q&A afterwards.
Tickets for the event are available online and at the door, although they are less expensive if purchased here in advance.
Inside Pulse Movies will be participating in a roundtable discussion with Michael Biehn earlier that afternoon so look for our coverage later this week.
Also, since this writer is a member of the HFCS, do check out the promo piece I made advertising Michael Biehn’s arrival to Houston.
