30-year old UFC featherweight Manny Gamburyan has had a dislocated shoulder cost him big opportunities before. On “The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 Finale,” Gamburyan put his shoulder out against Nate Diaz, which resulted in Diaz winning that season’s title.

Now, Gamburyan will be pulling out of a big UFC 135 fight with Diego Nunes for the same reason. Manny took to Twitter today to announce the injury:

“The Anvil” dropped down from lightweight and earned three straight WEC wins against John Franchi, Leonard Garcia, and Mike Brown. He received a title shot against WEC/UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo but fell in the 2nd round and lost a decision at UFC Live 4 to Tyson Griffin.

No replacement has yet been named for Gamburyan.

UFC 135 features a main event between UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. It will take place September 24th at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
