All week Marvel has been unveiling shadowed out covers for each of the various X-Men titles, each one only clearly showing the presumed leader of that team. Uncanny X-Force was shown today, and while the shadowed out figures appear to be Deadpool, Fantomex, and Psylocke…the one that we see loud and clear is a spoiler all it’s own.
Nightcrawler from the Age of Apocalypse.
Now I know, it’s not really bringing him back from the dead, and to be fair, it’s not even a huge spoiler. The current arc on Uncanny X-Force has the team visiting the Age of Apocalypse, and given the tone of the book, an AoA version of just about any X-character would fit the mold for the team.
Choosing Kurt, however, returns a fan favorite character to the X-franchise and does it in a way that enables the character to be a bit more…vicious. I’m not expecting cold blooded murderer Kurt, but I am expecting him to have less qualms about killing a hostile enemy than his mainstream counterpart.
No matter what though, it should be interesting.
