John Fosco: Clay Guida Has No Problem Fighting Ben Henderson For Title Shot

Interviews, News

MMA Junkie has an interesting interview with John Fosco, Clay Guida’s manager, in regards to the future of the lightweight title hopeful. And he feels it could be a great primer for the first UFC on Fox card in November.

“Clay feels that by beating Pettis in such a dominating fashion, that we’ve done enough for a title (shot),” Guida’s manager John Fosco told MMAjunkie.com. “But listen, the UFC calls the shots, we follow suit, and if they feel that he needs to get in the cage against a guy like Ben Henderson, we will happily get in the cage and make a statement.

“We will attract a whole new number of viewers on prime-time TV because we know Clay’s style. We know it’s high-pace and high-energy. He’s a polarizing guy in a positive way. Ben Henderson is a very tough guy; we have a ton of respect for him, and we feel he brings the same kind of passion and energy.

“With the enormity of this FOX deal, I really think the UFC has to make wise business decisions in terms of who they put in the cage when it comes to keeping viewers tuned in.”
