Pat Healy in for Josh Thomson at “Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov”

After Josh Thomson withdrew from next week’s bout with Maximo Blanco at “Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov” event, Strikeforce was working for a new opponent for the former King of Pancrase champion. Now, MMA Junkie is reporting that his new opponent has been announced at former UFC and WEC fighter Pat Healy will step into the cage opposite Blanco on September 10th.

Healy has won five of his last six fights. Most recently, he defeated Eric Wisely via decision at Strikeforce Challengers 18. He also has recent wins over Lyle Beerbohm and Bryan Tavares.

Blanco is on a six-fight win streak with his most recent win a unanimous-decision victory over Won Sik Park in December.
