WWE ’12 Roster Profile – Daniel Bryan

News

Today’s wrestling profile looks at superstar Daniel Bryan. His having competed in the indie wrestling circuit for a decade and stints in Japan have influenced his style of offense that consists of elbow strikes, precision kicks, grappling and submission maneuvers. To some (Michael Cole) he may look like a “dweeb,” but this “Internet darling” has quite the following due to his competing in Ring of Honor, where he won the title at 2005’s Glory by Honor IV and held on to it for 462 days, third behind Nigel McGuiness (545 days) and Samoa Joe (645 days). When he came to WWE as part of the inaugural season of WWE NXT, he made news when he was fired from the company due to his non-TV-PG friendly antics on a Monday Night Raw telecast involving ring announcer Justin Roberts and a necktie.

When he was hired back he found himself involved in a hot story line at the time that featured John Cena and the Nexus – the villainous faction for which Bryan was once a part of. He was part of a 14-man elimination tag match at SummerSlam 2010 where he teamed with Cena, Bret “Hitman” Hart, Chris Jericho, Edge, John Morrison and R-Truth. Since coming back to the promotion he’s routinely had one of the three best matches on each PPV he has appeared on, including this year’s Money in the Bank where he won the “Money in the Bank” ladder match giving him the right to be granted a World Heavyweight Championship title shot whenever he cashes it in.

Travis Leamons is one of the Inside Pulse Originals and currently holds the position of Managing Editor at Inside Pulse Movies. He's told that the position is his until he's dead or if "The Boss" can find somebody better. I expect the best and I give the best. Here's the beer. Here's the entertainment. Now have fun. That's an order!
