Spike TV to Stream Bellator Undercards Online

News

The UFC may be leaving Spike TV at the end of 2012 for Fox, but Spike is still intent on remaining in the MMA game. Bellator seems to be the recipient of that intent and now Spike will do something they never did for the UFC: broadcast their undercards online at Spike.com.

Bellator is already in the Spike TV family, with their Saturday night fight cards abeing televised by MTV2.

“Fight fans have been coming to our site for years for great mixed martial arts clips and information,” Erik Flannigan (executive V.P. of Digital Entertainment for MTV Networks) said in the network’s announcement. “Now we are thrilled to provide them with action-packed live fighting each week.”

Bellator is happy to join forces as well.

“We are thrilled to join forces with Spike.com,” Bjorn Rebney said. “The Spike brand is synonymous with mixed martial arts worldwide and is another member of the MTV family, who does an incredible job in resonating with the hard-to-reach 18-to-34-year-old male audience.”

The live streams on Spike.com will begin this Saturday and continue throughout Bellator’s fifth season.
