Plot Summary (from Empire.com): Coming off like a cross between The Bucket List and Planes, Trains & Automobiles, The Big Year finds three avid ornithologists (that’s bird watchers) heading out to compete across America in an annual event.
But all three also have their own agendas based on what’s going on (or rather what’s not) in their lives. Martin is a man about to retire, who’s trying to decide how to spend the rest of his life. Wilson’s in the throws of a mid-life crisis and Black would give anything to actually have a life. Together they set off to catalogue feathered friends and also cross a few items off their respective wish lists.
