The fan who sent the package of drugs that originally led the police to Hardy’s house–Thomas Ray Cruz–will be charged with conspiracy to traffic opium and two counts of trafficking opium. His arrest was made in November of 2010, and he will appear in court in November of this year.
The Fayetteville Observer reported on the incident, and also explored the situation entirely. Hardy’s lawyer stated that he “has tested negative for drugs since his arrest and has been helpful and cooperative with police.”
