Anderson Silva Expected Back Early 2012, Only Needs Rehab

Anderson Silva’s injured shoulder will most likely keep him out of action until early 2012.

In a post-fight interview with Tatame, Anderson Silva revealed that he was fighting at UFC 134 with an injured shoulder. Silva told them how the injury occurred, but went on to say that he doesn’t know how long it would take to recover. “A month before the fight I injured my shoulder while training with Junior dos Santos,” Silva said. “I was feeling a lot of pain in Rio… It’s a small injury, but I guess it’s on the cuff and bothers me. I’ll rest for a while and get healed”.

Anderson Silva’s manager, Ed Soares, informed MMAFighting.com that Silva will simply need to go to rehabilitation for his shoulder rather than undergo the surgery some feared he would need. Soares then stated that he thinks Anderson Silva will return to the octagon to defend his UFC Middleweight Title in early 2012.
