Will Vinton’s California Raisins became claymation superstars in the ’80s with their version of Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” They went from advertisements to network specials. Hen’s Tooth Video will release The California Raisins Collection on November 15. The boxset will contain 4 of their hot commercials, all 13 episodes of their Saturday Morning series, the 1988 special Meet the Raisins and the 1990 special Raisins: Sold Out.
November 15th a studio known as Hen’s Tooth Video will release The California Raisins Collection, a 2-DVD set that includes all 13 episodes of the television series. Also on board will be the 1988 primetime special “Meet the Raisins!”, and the 1990 primetime special “Raisins: Sold Out”. You will also get 4 classic commercial spots featuring the Raisins. The only thing missing is a box of raisins.
