Fox Sports: Bobby Lashley Signs With Shark Fights

News

Fox Sports reports that former Strikeforce heavyweight fighter and former WWE Superstar Bobby Lashley has signed a three-fight deal with the Texas-based Shark Fights.

In January 2010, Bobby Lashley made his Strikeforce debut and had the crowd behind him as he defeated his opponent, Wes Sims, in the very first round. After an unfortunate loss in Strikeforce and a controversial victory over in Titan Fighting Championships, Bobby Lashley is set to make his return to MMA action after signing a deal with Shark Fights. Details on his return has not been released, but it is believed that it will take place in Missouri.

Lashley always told the media that he will climb his way up the card and earn a spot on the top bill through his victories. The humble Lashley never thought he deserved to be in title fights solely based off his name, and still holds those beliefs to this day. About his deal with Shark Fights, Lashley stated, “It’s going to give me the opportunity to get some more fights under my belt.”

Shark Fights CEO Brad Brutsman is very satisfied with the deal and hopes that it will lead to success for both ends of the party. “It’s going to be big for us. When you’re a little organization you need to make some noise, and Bobby is the perfect one to make some noise. There is nobody better than him right now that’s out there.” Shark Fights is no strangers to big names, as their cards have featured former UFC fighters like Keith Jardine, Paul Daley and Houston Alexander.
