DC Comics Relaunch: The Ray To Get A Miniseries This December

News

With the December solicits coming out this week it doesn’t surprise me too much to see even more new characters come into the mix of the new DC Universe, but this one is somewhat surprising.

Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray (All-Star Western) will co-write The Ray, which will feature a new character in the legacy role. On art we have the always awesome Jamal Igle (Supergirl, Zatanna), and while we don’t know much beyond the miniseries being four issues, we do have his name. Lucien Gates. We also have cover art.

Palmiotti and Gray actually co-created the previous Ray during their time with the Freedom Fighters over the past few years, and Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, was the artist on the mini that debuted Ray Terrill, the Ray who many fans remember from his solo run in the 90’s and brief stint in Young Justice.

A lifelong reader and self proclaimed continuity guru, Grey is the Editor in Chief of Comics Nexus. Known for his love of Booster Gold, Spider-Girl (the real one), Stephanie Brown, and The Boys. Don't miss The Gold Standard.
