Survivor Series Tag Match Confirmed For PPV, John Cena & The Rock Involved

News

World Wrestling Entertainment sources have confirmed that both The Rock and newly anointed WWE champ John Cena (read the recap and results of Night of Champions) will be a part of a traditional five-on-five Survivor Tag Team Match at the 25th annual Survivor Series.

This year’s event emanates from Madison Square Garden, the historical WWE venue that has previously hosted ten of its pay-per-views, including the first WrestleMania, WrestleMania X and WrestleMania XX, plus the first SummerSlam (in 1988) along with SummerSlams in 1991 and 1998, two Royal Rumbles (2000 and 2008) and two Survivor Series (1996 – notable as The Rock’s PPV debut as “Rocky Maivia”; and 2002).

Obviously we know The Rock will be part of the PPV telecast, but this announcement by WWE neither confirms nor denies that they will be competitors in the Survivor Series tag match.

The Rock adds to the discussion with his September 16th tweet that also included this image below.
