City of God Gracing Us On Blu-ray

Easily one of the greatest foreign films of the new millennium is getting the Blu-ray treatment.

Lionsgate is planning to release City of God on Blu-ray December 13th.

God is the brutal story of a young man named Rocket (Alexandre Rodrigues) growing up in the slums of Rio De Janeiro all the while dreaming of becoming a photojournalist. If director Fernando Meirelles isn’t a name known to you, you might know some of his more recent films including The Constant Gardener and Blindnes.

A full listing of technical and supplementary specifications have yet to be announced. However, Miramax’s previous DVD edition of the film offered the original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with a 5.1 Dolby Digital soundtrack and a number of bonus features, including:
