Superman Gets New Kryptonian Mommy For Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel

News

Deadline is reporting that a casting change has been made for the upcoming Superman movie release, Man of Steel. Julia Ormond, who was originally cast in the role of Lara Lor-Van, Superman’s Kryptonian mother, is no longer. Instead, Ayelet Zurer, who played Eric Bana’s wife in Munich and had a role in Angels & Demons, will play the part. Details about the last-minute change are scarce, but it has been confirmed that Zurer will begin filming her scenes this week.

With this casting change, the principal cast now looks like this: Henry Cavill plays Superman, Russell Crowe plays Superman’s Kryptonian father, Jor-El, Amy Adams is Lois Lane, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane play the Kents, Supes’ Earthbound parents, and Michael Shannon is General Zod.

Man of Steel will move faster than a speeding bullet into theaters on June 14, 2013.
