Monday Morning Knockout – Alexis Vila vs. Joe Warren at Bellator 51

News, Top Story, Video

Saturday night, Alexis Vila and Joe Warren finally set foot in the Bellator cage to settle the score. They had jawed quite liberally at one another and at Bellator 51 at Canton Memorial Civic Center (in Canton, Ohio, natch), it was time to see who could back it up. Quick answer: Alexis Vila had Warren’s number; he REALLY had his number.

With the win, Vila has moved on in the Bellator Bantamweight tourney along with Eduardo Dantas, Marcos Galvao and Ed West with the winner earning a guaranteed title shot.

Vila had his raised high inside the Canton Civic Center after putting Warren to sleep with a fierce left hook after he rocked the featherweight champion with a powerful right hand on the previous exchange. The win sent a statement to the remaining competitors vying for Bellator Bantamweight Champion Zack Makovsky’s title, that Vila isn’t just some Olympic wrestler — he’s a 135-pound knockout artist.
