Ever since walking away from Strikeforce, Bobby Lashley has returned to the regional fighting circuit to hone his talents in the way he should’ve had his WWE fame not enabled him to jump to the big leageus of fighting quickly. And he’ll face a fighter the casual MMA fan will recognize: Darrill Schoonover.
The two will fight in the main event of a Shark Fights show on November 11, with Schoonover’s Shark Fights heavyweight title on the line.
Best known for being the object of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson’s taunts on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 10, Schoonover had a cup of coffee with the UFC. Losing to James McSweeney at the Ultimate Fighter Season 10 Finale, which he lost via TKO and was cut from the UFC thereafter, Schoonover has not found success sicne the show. He is 1-4 since that loss, with an overall record of 11-5, turning him from what was then a bright heavyweight prospect to a journeyman.
