I can barely recall the original TV series The Adventures of Tintin when it aired on HBO in the 1980s. I was just a kid, but I do remember enjoying a series where the main character was a boy detective. Perhaps it’s because I was a big fan of Encyclopedia Brown.
While most may be looking to Steven Spielberg’s War Horse as his big Oscar caliber release, this writer is more interested in The Adventures of Tintin, which sees Spielberg teaming up with Peter Jackson to bring Hergé‘s comic book series to the big screen.
WETA, the team that did wonders most recently with Rise of the Planet of the Apes, looks to bring that same expertise of performance capture but on a grander scale.
Every piece of footage I’ve seen, be it a photo spread in Entertainment Weekly or the various trailers released thus far, only helps to amp up anticipation.
