Media, News, Official Images, Previews, Top Story

Next week, marks the debut of the long-awaited Shade 12-part series by James Robinson. Like with all other mini-series set in the New 52 world of the DC Comics Relaunch, this book was neglected on its checklist, but it remains eagerly awaited by Starman fans old or new, due to the Omnibi releases.

Here are the teaser images from DC Comics. Looks like Mikaal Tomas has returned to Opal City and replaced Jack Night as the city’s latest Starman protector. Despite Robinson’s recent Justice League of America arc likely not included in the new DC Universe, it still seems Mikaal and Congorilla are still allies. We also see Bobo Benetti in this preview.

Can’t wait for James Robinson’s return to Opal City. And, Cully Hamner’s art looks AMAZING!!! Great to also see Tony Harris back on covers!

DC’s Hype:

Next Wednesday, acclaimed writer James Robinson returns to the NEW YORK TIMES bestselling series STARMAN with a new spin-off miniseries, THE SHADE.

Illustrated by fan-favorite artist Cully Hamner, THE SHADE #1 brings an unexpected encounter with a familiar face and ends in a jaw-dropping twist. Speculation starts now!

And don’t miss the rest of this 12-issue miniseries, featuring art by such luminaries as Darwyn Cooke, Javier Pulido, Jill Thompson, Frazer Irving and Gene Ha.
