DC Comics Relaunch: Paul Levitz & Marcus To’s Huntress Tied To 2012’s Justice Society By James Robinson & Nicola Scott

So, we now know that DC Comics Relaunch’s New 52 will have a Justice Society title in the main DC Universe and not on a parrallel Earth, or do we? This would be the new JS(no-A) series previously announced to be done by writer James Robinson and drawn by Nicola Scott.

DC has mused about the Justice Society taking place on Earth 2, but its recent comments seem to muddy things by acknowledging an Earth 2, but also tieing the JSA heavily to 3 DC new series set on its main Earth. Intriguing to say the least.

Baed on what we’ve read, it looks like the team would include Mister Terrific, Huntress and others. Will this be the first incarnation of the team? Will they be inspired to form the Justice Society after seeing Earth 2’s JSA through or after Grant Morrison’s Multiversity? Will something else entirely influence them?

It sure looks like “a” New 52 Justice Society bands together and if so likely after the forming of the Justice League (to keep up the “young” in the new DCU). Could this be where we also see the previously teased return of Captain Marvel / Shazam?

I am so excited by the possibilities! However, that is tempered by concern.

At a minimum, considering all of DC’s musings, the Justice Society in 2012 will involve at least 2 Earths: DC’s main Earth and Earth 2. I guess we’ll have to wait until issue #1 hits before we know for sure how this new Justice Society book will play out.

Here is what DC teased:

Looking for more reasons to pick up the book? HUNTRESS has story connections to the following three series:

• BIRDS OF PREY
• MISTER TERRIFIC
• Next year’s JUSTICE SOCIETY

We won’t spoil just how they’re all connected but believe us when we say you won’t want to miss out.

Sweet!
